Drag these onto your desktop and print on cardstock.  Cut out and use to trace shapes as needed for each project.   The diamond shapes are intended for the Project No. 1 pattern book.

Pretty paint

Let’s keep things very simple shall we?  Here’s what you’ll want to have on hand:

  • all kinds of pretty paper from exquisite handmade to wrapping paper to ledger paper, graph paper – whatever you have will work fine!
  • watercolor paper to paint on – any kind!  use existing scraps
  • ephemera (for 1 project) that is sturdy enough to be sewn through
  • maybe a few old photographs to sew onto our paper panels
  • more watercolor scraps – perhaps leftover signatures – these are for our little pattern book we’ll be constructing in PROJECT 1
  • paint – cheap craft paint, watercolors, acrylic ink –
  • a few paint brushes from thick to thin
  • thread
  • your sewing machine
  • 2″ ,  2.25″ ,  or  2.5″  circle punch or  handcut which is what i had to do when my circle punch quit working!

items you may not have laying around:

  • 3-5 inexpensive wooden embroidery hoops in various sizes (don’t go above 12 inches)
  • legal size or larger transluscent vellum – around 20 lb. weight is fine.  thicker will also work.  this item is not essential, but works really well for one project in particular.  if you have smaller sizes you can just sew it together to enlarge!
